Miss America Pre-Game Show

One week ago 53 Miss America hopefuls arrived in Las Vegas with the dream of wearing our country’s most coveted crown.  Tonight that dream will come true for one special lady.  Who will it be?

As usual, the pageant kicked off with the introduction ceremony and the Miss America fashion show at Las Vegas’ Fashion Show Mall.  On Monday each contestant participated in a formal interview that counts toward determining the finalists. Then the show moved to Planet Hollywood for the preliminary competitions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Each night the contestants competed in a different phase of the pageant: Talent, Swimwear, Evening Gown, and On Stage Question.  Preliminary awards were handed out to the top Talent and Swimwear competitors.

On Tuesday, Miss Oklahoma wowed the crowd with her quick-footed tap dance routine to “Money Can’t Buy Me Love” and Miss South Carolina showed some Southern sizzle on stage.

On Wednesday night Miss Maryland dreamed her way to a preliminary talent award with her vocal performance of “I Dreamed A Dream” and Miss Illinois proved that Northern girls look good in a swimsuit too.

The final night belonged to Miss North Dakota, who played Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love” on the piano, and Miss Washington, who shined brighter in her swimsuit than the Vegas lights.

But that was just an appetizer for the main event.  Tonight we will find out who made the cut and who will be left watching when 15 finalists compete for Miss America.  And we’ll see who has what it takes to be the next Miss America.

Well now it’s time to narrow down my list.  For what their worth, here are my predictions:

1.  Miss Minnesota

2.  Miss Kentucky

3.  Miss Maryland

4.  Miss Oklahoma

5.  Miss Virginia

6.  Miss Illinois

7.  Miss District of Columbia

8.  Miss Texas

9.  Miss Georgia

10.  Miss California

11.  Miss Vermont

12.  Miss Michigan

13.  Miss Kansas

14.  Miss Florida

15.  Miss Colorado

Enjoy watching the pageant everyone!
